CDC Christmas Fundraiser

Christmas Tree Project (Dec.1-15)

This year, the Community Donations Committee is offering you the opportunity to open your hearts (and wallets) to support two worthy charitable organizations right here in our Vancouver community:

  1. The Street Outreach Initiative, headed by Fr. Matthew Johnson on the Downtown Eastside, distributes gift cards to people in need throughout the year to be used at Tim Horton’s, Macdonald’s and Subway. These are given out as needed and are much appreciated by the recipients.

  2. The Lookout Society will again be operating a warming centre at St. Mary’s, as they did last winter, to provide shelter during the coldest nights to guests who are experiencing homelessness. Year-round, Lookout provides a variety of services across 22 municipalities in BC that include shelters, housing, overdose prevention services, health support, outreach, and clinical and community resources.

Last year, we raised $2,000 for our Christmas initiative. We would love to top that this year! Visit our table in the Parish Hall on Sunday, Dec.1st, 8th, or 15th, to make a donation and add an ornament to our Christmas tree!
