Volunteers Needed: Halloween

This Halloween, we will serve many families who will be out trick-or-treating. Last year we served over 800 people. As they go out into the cold to create memories together, we ensure they are fed dinner and kept warm with hot chocolate. Seeing so many children filled with such vibrant life is a great privilege to witness, and fills me with deep joy. We have an amazing community of neighbours around us, and I hope we continue to find creative ways to serve them.

We desperately need volunteers. We are looking for:

  • Senior volunteers who could sit at a 'table' at the Toddler Town party for little ones and hand out items like temporary tattoos, prizes, or glow sticks. I will provide the items, we just need you!

  • Kitchen volunteers who could ensure we have a constant flow of hot chocolate being made and/or shuffling said hot chocolate from the kitchen to the Halloween booth outside.

  • BBQ'ing volunteers who could cook hotdogs for us.

  • Hospitality volunteers who could help hand out hot dogs, hot chocolate, candy, and or non-food treats to children and families.

This year we're running the booth from 5pm-9pm and the Toddler Town party from 5pm-7pm. We would need some volunteers to begin around 3:30pm to help set up and start food/drink prep, others could come and do a 'later' shift to relieve our 'early' volunteers and to help clean up. Please email me (Kingsley) if you are interested in helping this ministry: kingsley@stmaryskerrsidale.ca
