MEET THE STAFF MINISTRY TEAM
Kevin Dixon, Rector
Kevin is married to Diane, and although they have no children of their own they sometimes borrow their friends’ kids. Kevin was born in Sarnia, Ontario to a family with deep Canadian roots. Before he was nine years old he lived in four different towns, but thinks of Windsor, Ontario as home. Influenced by a godly father, himself an Anglican priest, Kevin committed his life to Christ at the age of ten. Through high school Kevin worked in a deli but decided slicing headcheese for the rest of his life was a waste of the gifts God has given him. Kevin went to the University of Windsor in 1981 where he did a Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to Huron College in London, Ontario where he did a Master of Divinity degree, and was ordained in 1987. Kevin served two different parishes in the Diocese of Huron in southern Ontario before coming to St. Mary’s Kerrisdale in 1997. kdixon@stmaryskerrisdale.ca
Kelly Duncan, Assistant Curate
Kelly was born in Toronto but she and her family slowly made their way west during her childhood to finally call Vancouver “home.” She received a B.Com (Marketing) from UBC in 1994 and worked in the business community for over ten years before God called her to ordained ministry. She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Vancouver School of Theology in April 2008 and has been at St. Mary’s since August of that year. She is married to Shaun and when she is not at work, she can be found playing with their young daughter. Her two priorities at St. Mary’s for the 2009/2010 year are Stewardship and Outreach. kduncan@stmaryskerrisdale.ca
David Taylor, Assistant Curate
David was born in a farming community in South-eastern Saskatchewan and grew up in Calgary, Alberta. Upon graduating from High School he moved out to the West Coast for theological training, and has never gone back…except to visit his family. David studied Christian Spirituality at Regent College (’07) and recently finished his MDiv at the Vancouver School of Theology (’08). He enjoys reading and talking about the great Christian theological mysteries, all of which make his heart flutter. Because he is already highly enthused by these intellectual and spiritual pursuits, he does not drink caffeinated beverages lest he be assumed into heaven. While at St. Mary’s David will oversee the Children and Youth ministries and be a resource, for those interested, within the disciplines of Christian Spirituality. He will also try to keep to his farming roots and cultivate such an interest among all the people of St. Mary’s Kerrisdale. dtaylor@stmaryskerrisdale.ca
